Who can give me the exact info on tuning the ignition on my 125 Baby mac?

I have a bad feeling something is wrong since there is always a hole appearing in the piston??

Forgot to mention that the hole is not in the skirt, it´s on the dome!

haaa there..dont know exzact timeing but if ya melting holes in pistons ...timeing is way to advanced...just a thought and experience after 25 years of raceing...cheyney...

Retard your timing about 5-10 degrees and give it another try, does that have the pvl ignition with the adjustable mapping???

Yes right, it sure is a Red PVL, I strobotimed the ignition but seems like they all have different curves, I have 5 of theese suckers! Even the wiseguys from Italy couldn´t help!!!!

I just ran out of patience and threw the pice of s### in the
weeds, I´m gonna pic up my YAMATO 80 and at least have a few decent laps!

Set the timing at .9 to 1.0mm.

What size main jet? I would start with something like 3.2 or 3.3mm.

How long did it run before you melted it? How many laps? How did it take the pipe before it melted? How big a prop did you have on?

Other things I would check is the fuel system, tank, check valve, fuel filter and pop off pressure.

Last thing to check is the water system, make sure it is not clogged.

Don't give up, it is a much better ride than a Yamato.....

I think Mr. Raana saw only about 1 lap, 2 at the max!
He is useing one of my props 235 mm pich!
I believe that the engine breaks from a lot of different reasons
evertime he gets something fixed there´s always a new one!
Last time I watched him the plate that holds the timing was loose,
maybe it has something to do with the exessive vibration, who knows!?
Mike is Pretty close 1.0mm is definitely in the ball game!
I have used 1.2 with no holes whatsoever!

There is only one general cure for everything,....
a lot of more testing!
