The folks in the town of Berwick, PA REALLY WANT US to come there THIS year. I'd like to get somewhat of a scope of who might be inclined to come to this race. Please just answer the pole (yes/no) to give us an idea of what kind of show we can put on.

We still have the NAC's in 3 different classes and the town is going to move the Riverfest it had planned to this new date.....which is October 15 & 16 (which is the next weekend after our Millville race).

We really do not want to tell people that want us there no if we can help it. They are still putting up the prize $$ and as stated previously, the NAC's.

Please let me know your feelings on this (ASAP) so that DVORA can make a call.

Thanks.

There is one problem that we as a club are worried about with regards to the new date at Berwick: Getting the club trailer back and forth from Berwick, where it is now, to Millville for our 10/8 and 10/9 race and then back to Berwick for the following weekend. Then after Berwick we need to get the club trailer back to New Jersey.
We as a club need our members to step up on this one. I, as president, would love to be able to race two weekends in a row BUT we are going to need ALOT of assistance form DVORA members.

Ray Hastings and I have agreed to tow the two rescue boats back to Berwick after the Millville race abd back again for winter storage. Jim Tower, his son PJ and Bill Walker are moving the boats to Millville this weekend for the 10/8-9 race. What we need now is for someone to tow the club trailer with the clock, scales, etc., back again, from Millville to Berwick in time for the new Berwick race weekend.

Why don't you switch the DATES & avoid all the trailer shuffling ??????

The Berwick Riverfest is already rescheduled for 10/15 and 10/16 so that is when they want us there.
We just need to get the Club Trailer form Millville to Berwick and then back to NJ.
We should have enough members that SOMEONE should be willing to do that.

Good Idea Bill. Of course, there is always the possibility of Millville on OCT 22, 23. What does everyone else think of that ??

I will take the club trailer back to Millville after Berwick. Can anyone else get it up there? One way for one trailer and this will all come together. Any takers? Greg

This sounds workable!! Any tow money? We can bring the usual double-D's and even provide some excitement in 850hydro if necessary.

The Berwick race originally scheduled for 9/17 and 9/18 has officially been rescheduled for October 15 and 16. All the classes are still the same and we will still be running NAC in ASR, BSR, and CSR.
We are hoping that that any and all racers who were conflicted over the Crystal lake race will come support us in Berwick.
Thanks,

BERWICK IS ON

JUST CAME BACK FROM THE PITS AND THEY LOOK GOOOOD.

THE NAC,S SATERDAY AND ALL OTHER CLASSES SCHEDULED.

SUNDAY AND COMPLETE SCHEDULE OF RACES. (SEE SANCTION )

PRIZE MONIES AND GAS CARDS STILL BEING COUNTED. WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN COMPLETED.

WE NEED TO SUPPORT THIS RACE SITE FOR FUTURE YEARS. WE PLAN TO PICK A DAY FOR NEXT YEAR, THAT WILL MAKE THE 2012 RACE SCHEDULE THE BEST EVER.

LET US NOT LET THE TOWN OF BERWICK AND THE DVORA DOWN. WE TALK A LOT ABOUT " WE NEED TO GROW AND HOW" WELL THIS IS A CHANCE TO SHOW THOSE RACE SITES WHAT WE ARE MADE OF. LET US PUT ON A SHOW FOR THEM AND THEN WE HAVE SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT.

SEE YOU AT BERWICK:boat::trailer: HOOKEM UP AND MOVE OUT.

I got there about 0745AM. Reasonable attendance but the wind was blowing direct out of the West right down the front straight into your face at about 25/30 MPH. Weather hold and then cancelled for the day. Vendors showed up in force. Expected 90 and it looked like thats about what they had show. About every food group known to man. Going to give it a try tomorrow. Had only 3 CSHs so there will be a lot of small entry heats. Great visiting with everyone. Jack :usflag:

Although we got blown out today this is a race site for the future. The folks of Berwick are 100% behind this event. I personally spoke with the Mayor and his only concern was if the racers were not happy with the site. From my perspective that will not be a concern. We can not control the weather. I was amazed at the number of people walking the pits just asking questions about the boats and racing in general. We really need to support this site and work with the people of Berwick.

Great looking race site. Big spectator enthusiasm. Great location. Not far off of I-80. Spectacular trophies. Other regions should try to protect the date and make it to this race in 2012 as soon as it's announced.

i agree with everyone that this will be a great site to race. the town is behind the event and it made the front page of the sunday paper. and according to the article they want 2 races there next year! wow 2 races at loch haven and 2 races at berwick, that's 9 days of racing a little over 3 hours drive. that will work. keep up the good work region 3! i'll be back.

i would say the sunday was more of the river belching logs, tires and debris from the sept flooding along with very swift currents than wind. other than that it will be a good race site. it did give the racers time to visit some of the vendors and support the community. i think ian's kids rode the mechanical bull for a while(3 hours).

I would like to give all that made the trip to Berwick a load of Thanks. Have talked to Berwick and they were disapointed that we could not race. I told them the racers were twice as disapointed that they could not race.

Mother nature gave us a slap. Chked the river flow and it went from a flow of 12.5 to 33.4 over fri nite into sat/sun. Thats a lot of water going down stream.

Again thanks to all and hope that a race at Berwick will bring twice as many participants next year.

Jim Tower....What are you looking at next year for a race date? I'll look forward to showing up myself. Please keep in mind the Crystal Lake race is sort of pigeon holed into our long standing date. It is a private lake that is offered to us with many pre-conditions. I would think that an October time frame for Berwick would boost your attendance as it would be one of the last races in the northeast. The date conflict thing this past season did not help either event and should be avoided somehow.
better luck next year !
