One tooth over or under??? Those can't be original Merc gears...

One over (over drive) should work well on those torque monsters you drive! You could probably pull a skier with a 3 holer FEH! :D

Cheyney, I would be interested in a set of 1 overs. How much will they be?

Never mind. I know. He can't turn his motor up any higher. 14,000 is about the limit (sounds like it's turning that high! ;) )

Shawn, those are D size gears... You could put a D unit under one of your motors and it would last 3 forevers, but you'd have to use adapter plate(s) or have a tower built to match a 2 cyl powerhead to a D lower unit. It wouldn't be cheap.

My wallet can't handle that now lol

My plan is to start off with the little 25ss/Q & 30h motors then later on eventually work up to D/44 motor...years later :D

wow some people are thick...and cant read and think they know it all...the gears are original merc gears and not d-stock /44 gears...i dont have any prices yet we still need to test it under my rude to see if it survives ...NOT into selling junk..the gears are very very strong and a bit larger

Something tells me these will not be cheap to buy :( , but may be cheap to run! :)

Chrysler and McCulloch racing lower units both used one off ratios and fat teeth and easily out lasted Speedmasters.

Cheney,

When are we going to get to see some pictures of this lower unit?

Will it have a water pump?
