The day dawned with over 80 entries for the Harry Brinkman Memorial race at Huntington, In with the Indiana Outboard. Our thanks to the city for allowing us for 25 years straight to participate at this beautiful setting.

The race honored the memory of Harry Brinkman, longtime Mod supporter and one of the best at engine building. We told stories all day about Harry, my favorite being Harry was an Air Traffic Controller who would not fly. Maybe he knows more than we do??????hmmmm

A great day of racing with absolutely everyones best behavior was had as we had no incidents all day. Thanks to Gary Miller for the work on the ad as well as the work at the races as he particpated in the drivers meeting. Harry was one blunt SOB, and Gary reminded everyon that he was as well and that is why they got along so well

My thanks to Steve Roskowski and his dear wife Donna who together were referee and chief scorer and their teams. Also a tip of the hat to Bob Koshka, John Sharp, and Dave Brill.

When you say fast, you have to put Bob Dunlap in this one. In the second heat he got trapped a little in back of Laws and Robb, for the good as they both jumped the gun. Bob not knowing this put on the speed merchant clothes and was absolutely driven to get by both of them and did he ever.

Thanks to you also for coming. It is nice to see new "sort of" people coming to races. We hope you had a good time. You must be tired from all the classes you ran!
