I was wondering why no one hear in the states run the Arens engines. I have been to the last 6 nationals and I have not seen one, unless I am going crazy. They look cool and fast but what do looks mean. Well I would like to know as much about them as possible. From what I can tell they are similar to say a VRP with nickasil (spelled wrong) cylinders but with some sort of Ray Valve on the back. Besides that I am going to need the experts to fill in the rest. If anyone has info I would be grateful. Rrrr13 Zach

These engines will eventually get here, but they are still in their early stages of development. Two 125's ran well at the World Championships at Lakeland.

To be successful like the GRM and VRP, you also need a US distributor. Preferably someone who knows how to work on the engines, can afford to carry an inventory of spares and can communicate with the factory.

To sell many, you need to be somewhat price comptetitve with the competition.

There is a 250 Arens in the states right now. Last time I spoke with the factory, they were in the process of doing some changes to the 350 motor, and it should be released soon. I think over the next year, you will start to see them show up on some transom's. Who's going to be the dealer? Guess you'll have to wait and see..........

Zach 13R,

Both Oliver Lucas and Marian Jung of Team Lucas ran an Arens at the Worlds in Lakeland. They were 'Proto-type' motors that are under development.

Go to the 'Team-Lucas' link here on this web site for a link to...

<www.arens-metallbau.de> for the Arens web site (not much there yet)...

Also, write Oliver Lucas an e-mail and ask him the questions you are interested in knowing about.

Also, Rex Hall will be the new Rossi dealer for the US. He is a very knowledgeable motor guru.

The Arens motors are based on Rotax Kart motors and parts. The Arens 125 motor is a Rotax Kart motor with the transmission sawed off. Check out the Rotax web site. They ran O.K. at Lakeland. I think the 70 pound all composite boat helped a bunch. The 2004 VRP that Buddy ran was the class of the field. But Buddy has been fast in the 125 for years, like 6 in a row at Depue. If we got the wifes O.K. for my son to race boats I would have to order a Rossi. It is a complete package. The new Rossi distibutor seems like a real good man. The VRP and Arens are power heads only. They are still kit motors. 125 hydro should be one hell of a class in 2004.

A 250 Arens is in the U.S. ( Down Garland Texas way.....) If it runs as well as the factory says it is going to, us 250 guys are in trouble....Denny is one of if not the best driver in 250 cch at this time.

VRP's should now be available as complete engines, including tower-housing and lower units. That is what I have been told.

Steve or Carlos??

Now that I think of it, VRP's have been available complete less the lower unit for two years. I chose to use a Konig style tower set-up and did not purchase the factory tower. They are available, however, and this year VRP should have lower units as well.

The factory towers are very well made with a slick pipe slide configuration.

I beleive that the factory tower will accept either a Konig or Yamato style lower unit.
