APBA ins. Question

The DNR guy wants the distance from the track to the outer markers. Or the distance that pleasure boats must be from the race track.

The paperwork from the APBA gives all the distance requirements. From memory, off-course markers should be 50' from an obstruction (i.e. judges stand dock or boat), 100' from any shore that could have spectators (or was it 150'?), and 300' from the expected path of race boats and the spectator fleet.

Brian !! You are showing a map of the place I duck hunt !! I thought we had the agreement no one would know !!!

Also, it will be easy to control pleasure boats there, the channel can be easily blocked.

I think the channel would be no problem to block but the people on the big lake want to watch and see the races from the water. They have control over both lakes so I really want to make them happy, but the DNR guy is very worried bout saftey.

I have to go to the Town meeting one last time and make the DNR happy. Cross your finders!!!


For all interested this race site (and Dave's Duck hunting secret location) is the Kalamazzo race for IOA it is about 2 miles of US 131 8 miles south of Kalamazoo.

Never seen water around race season, I will ask my buddy Brian who fishes out there. From what I see it should be no trouble controlling, close the boat ramp....
