Does anyone remember the Humphry's Hydro that ran in the Merc "d" challenge. It was a supposed very successful boat.

It had some very strange curves and lines as well the rocker was about 2 ft foward from the back of the boat.

With the motor on the boat, the propshaft is Just below the bottom flat on the transom. It is a wicked looking hull.

I can snap some picks in the near future.

Dave, that's the boat that Frank Farnsworth used to drive if I'm not mistaken. He took a wicked wipeout with it and lost the use of one of his arms as a result. The boat was supposedly super quick (set a number of records), but on the small side if my memory serves me right

Yes Bob,

When I measured the boat, I said I would never but anything on it but a 25 or a "c" The transom is 13" from the true bottom on a square and it is a very wide cockpit.

The transom is extended past the rear of the boat by a few inches on about a 25 degree angle.

I talked with Frank about the boat and if I recall he did not blame the boat for the shortcomings. If memory serves. He was all for coming to see it test.

I think some pics are in order Dave, it's a unique piece of workmanship. Some of the other builders will be interested in taking a look!

I remember Humphrey sort of stuffing, broaching his D boat at the Hinton nationals 87' right in front of the second turn. I believe he got a bad start and was driving really, really hard to catch up. The boat was light blue. Really cool looking.
