This was from the mid to late 80's, I think.

That was a great picture.... many boats, big trailer! That was before I went to any PRO races other that running in some local races. Impressive set-up..... Must have been tough pulling a big trailers like that with one of Art's VW buses! I still like the looks of the "Pugh Boat Works" logo......

Thanks for the pic Marc. 1987

Near to far..#66 My 250 boat Yamato. Belongs to Dan Williams now. #67 Gary's 250 1987 250 Nat champ, location unknown. #67 Garys 350 boat, narrowly lost champ to John Stevens. Boat also known as the "Rent a Wreck" Set many competition records. Driven by Hellsten. Nydahl, Conzolo, Borges and many others who needed a boat. Leans on a wall at the shop. #92 Allen Tilton's 350 boat, owned by Bryan Leone now. #92 Allens 500cc boat, location unknown. Blue boat at end is John Stevens could be either US2 or 55, as I type I cant remember the pic. The big trailer belonged to Tilton. We used the old trailer from Bill Hostler.

The logo was kinda lifted from the logo that Porsche used on there late 60's early 70's race cars.

I drove the wrent a wreck for a season. It was old enough that the back of the sponson ripped off with the fin at some race outside of Knoxville. Without a doubt, the best hand'ling boat I have ever driven. I especially liked the little pieces of carpet stuck to the bottom from a hasty trip from the varnish brush to the trailer.

Nice picture. I still remember looking at the Pugh paint jobs and boats in Propeller as a kid and always being impressed by them. I also like seeing boats painted up the similar or the same when part of the same team. Very impressive.
