I have always thought this class would really take off if we allowed any l/u that equals or exceeds the R dimension of
the old ABC Merc.
There all many old Konig, Anzani, Champion etc boots left over from the 60s that are available for a third of what a good 16:21 goes for today. Or I would rather spend my $$$ on a new Konny than gamble on a used Merc l/u.
But maybe I am reading the rules wrong?
If I use a OMC 22" on a Konig tower, I must use a Merc boot?

The rule is A/B lower unit, that means Merc AND Hot Rod. You can do this, all new from skeg to power head for about $1200. Call Tom Moulder.:)

Next time I visit Pete at the ski club, can we take that 25Mod up and down the Schuykill a few times??

How about listing ALL the resources available for guys interested in slapping together a 25Mod motor (aka "B1" in AOF)

I know Tom Moulder in/near Minneapolis, MN has the HotRod lower and motor adapter available for sale.

I think Dudley Malone has fillerblocks and pipes.

Ron Whittaker's name in Mexico, Missouri has popped up in several of these conversations...

Dudley Malone has the whole exhaust for $235, filler block, cover plate, elbow and megaphone

You can adapt the OMC CD2 ignition to it (same as used on A/J).
Ron Whittaker has information on the stator adapter plate for that.

Craig Dewald built a 25mod OMC last summer (and he darn well ought to drive it himself!!).

Anyway, what that means is that there will probably good props coming out of his personal work on this class.

I think Dudley is having tall and short Bayer towers/adapters cast. May need someone to do machine work as he is very busy supporting his Grandson's Micro-sprint car.---But with enough COMMITTED interest and a little arm twisting I think Dudley and Rick Morris (B-1/25MOD GURU) will get back in the machine shop...................
Also call Tom Mouldner NOW if you want his tower/foot.
If your thinking about this class please get on the phone now cause we need you out there and it is a FUN RIDE!!!!!!!!

P.S.---More rigs in my wake make for a better picture!!!!:D
