Hi

I'm hoping that you guys in the US can help a limey who is looking to re-build a Crescent engine from the 60s

Does anyone have any knowledge of any parts or spares that are available in the US for these 'old timers'? If not the original parts, may be details of alternatives that can be used?

Just as an indication of the type of parts we are trying to locate - things like pistons (the ones in the engine have been damaged after the engine seized some time in the past), crank discs, gears for gear boxes, etc

Correct me if I'm wrong, but could be it the case that parts from other engines - say Mercs - could be used, or at least made to fit in some cases?

Any assistance and/or advice you can offer would be much appreciated

Regards

Corin

Corin,

You might try posting at

http://members3.boardhost.com/OutboardRacing/

Theres a fellow that hangs out there, John Taylor, who might be able to help you in some way. He knows a lot and owns/has owned a bunch of Anzani's as well as various stock and modifeid mercs. He apparently is a member here but has never posted...

Corin, those parts are pretty tough to find even here in the US. I would eventully like to find a Super C for my Butts Aerowing.

Oh ya, John does not have any Crescent stuff to sell or part with.....we have already been through that scenario.

The only guy I know who may know of a source for Crescent parts would be Dick O'Dea. I have his e-mail somewhere around here. I'll look and let you know. He supplied all of the US and Canada with these motors but as you may be well aware there was only 75 complete motors ever distributed in the US and Canada. Parts are almost non-existant.
I have a NOS, I mean never been run, brand new Super C that I may part with. Even the original crate I have as well as the prop,
steering bar and splash shield. I have posted a picture here.

That color engine caught my eye, I'm not positive but Dave Culley in Maltby WA may have some of those plug smashers.

Cool !!

2 living examples out of 70 right here on HR.net.

Bob, could you take some more pics of the engines in your collection? I see a Konig to the right complete down to the Beru's, and what looks like an Anzani to the left.
