I know this has nothing to do with hydroplane racing, EXCEPT it is fast and loud! I hope some other folks would find this as cool as I do. I moved this post from a more obscure location so everyone would be aware of it.
Here's a link to a turbine engine tinkerer. I've been following his website for a couple years now. He started out by installing a turbine engine into an old ratted out Glastron CVX 18 boat in his garage. He got this Glastron up to 85 mph, that's pretty darn fast I'd say! The fully refinished boat is even for sale!
Now he's doing conversions for other folks. I think his latest project is a 33ft. Fountain. At his website you can find lots of step by step photos and even a few videos of the boat in action!
