I guess you'll have to run a small diameter prop to keep from wiping out your spark plugs! (joke) :D
With my 44 merc on a 9" tower, I can't put the rope around the flywheel without water going over the transom. Unless someone lifts up on the back of the boat. I'd bet that's a common problem with all these short towers.
I bet in the coming years we'll see even shorter towers than this. Perhaps by sealing the lower half of the powerhead in a bowl or something to that effect.

Believe me John Runne wants it shorter yet!
We checked the water Line on the Hydro and will be allright.
5" was the shortest thing that we could get the exhaust routed into and out of. Hope to fit it on the boat soon!
Guess if I ever come out the side of the engine like every one else that we could get even shorter! i hope to post more pics in two weeks.

I have a question are mod ob,s a division of stocks if so should rules not follow suit as to dimensions on boats and motors heights boat lenghth boat weight rather than lean more toward pro rules as i thought this was why the 3 orgs seperated back in NOA days. Just a thought cause it seems like unregulation mite kill just as fast only painless.

Sam very clear i once played 9 ball at a place near marshall hall. I have allways liked runabouts but they all seem to be different as to bottom width stakes etc. I once aquired an Art van pelt molded ply BU because apba rules changed. Glad to know its local politics now.
